Privacy Policy

PayNumera runs calculator arithmetic in your browser without requiring an account. Sharing a scenario, submitting feedback and visiting the website involve different data flows. This policy explains what each action can disclose and the choices you have.

What happens to my calculator inputs?

The salary, pay frequency, filing status, withholding elections and deductions you enter are used by calculator code running on your device. Ordinary field changes do not submit those entries to a PayNumera calculation database. You can use our public tools without supplying a name, email address or account.

This does not mean every use of the website is anonymous or that financial information can never leave your device. A shared scenario URL, a message you send us or a PDF you distribute can contain your figures. The sections below explain those exceptions.

Our calculators do not ask for Social Security numbers, bank credentials, tax identification numbers or payroll passwords. Please do not include them in feedback. Use rounded or hypothetical figures when you only need to compare possibilities.

What information is in a shared scenario link?

On calculators with sharing enabled, choosing Share scenario adds the supported input values to the page URL and attempts to copy that link to your clipboard. Depending on the tool, the link can contain pay amounts, hours, filing status, state, W-4 settings and deductions. It is a readable scenario, not an encrypted or access-controlled record.

Anyone who receives the link can inspect its values and reopen the scenario. The URL can remain in browser history, synced browsing data, messages or bookmarks. Opening or refreshing it sends its query parameters with the page request, where hosting systems may process or log them. Creating the link changes the browser address without itself reloading the page.

Only share figures you are comfortable disclosing. Resetting the calculator can remove its scenario parameters from the current address, but it cannot recall copies already sent or erase another service's records. Download PDF opens your browser's print workflow; the resulting file contains calculation details and is under your control when you save or share it.

What do you collect when I send feedback?

The feedback form requires your name, email address and message. A submission also includes the feedback category and the current page URL, which is filled in automatically. We use this information to investigate problems, understand suggestions and follow up where needed. Submitted records are stored in our database and are available to authorized staff.

The page URL can include shared scenario values. If you have generated or opened a scenario link and do not want those values attached to feedback, navigate to the Contact page before opening the form. Describe the issue with an anonymous example and identify the affected calculator in your message.

To limit repeated submissions, the feedback service derives a salted hash from the request's IP address and browser identification string. It stores that hash and submission counts separately from the feedback record. This is an abuse-prevention identifier; it should not be treated as proof that a submission is anonymous.

If you email a published contact address, your message, sender details and any attachments also pass through email systems. Avoid sending unredacted pay statements, tax returns or identity documents.

Technical information and operational monitoring

Website requests expose technical information to the services delivering the site, such as IP address, requested URL, browser details and request time. These services may use request records for delivery, security and troubleshooting.

The application also sends limited operational events, such as a calculator starting, completing or encountering an error. Allowed event details are calculator name, tax year, state code, route category and error code. The event filter excludes salary, wage, deduction, W-4, contact and feedback-message fields. When a monitoring destination is configured, these filtered events are forwarded with a timestamp and application release identifier.

These event limits are separate from the handling of page requests and deliberate feedback submissions described above. They do not remove figures that you choose to include in a URL or message.

Cookies, browser storage and advertising

Your light or dark theme choice is saved in browser local storage so it can be remembered on later visits. It remains until you change it or clear the site's stored data. Public calculator use does not require signing in. The separate staff administration area uses authentication cookies to maintain authorized sessions.

When you choose to carry Overtime Calculator earnings into a supported paycheck or payroll calculator, PayNumera saves the hourly rate, work units, overtime multiplier and state in that tab's session storage. This one-time handoff is accepted for up to 10 minutes and removed when the destination calculator consumes it. If you do not complete the handoff, the record can remain until the browser ends the page session or you clear the site's stored data; PayNumera will not accept it after the 10-minute limit.

Display advertising is currently disabled, and the site does not currently load an advertising-network integration. We do not use the calculator's input fields to build advertising profiles. Any future advertising integration must be accompanied by updated disclosures describing its providers, purposes and applicable privacy choices. Read the Advertising Disclosure for the current commercial policy.

Which service providers handle information?

PayNumera uses Cloudflare to deliver the website and Supabase for backend database and staff authentication services. These providers process information needed to perform those functions. A configured monitoring service may receive the limited operational events described above.

Provider information is available in Cloudflare's Privacy Policy and Supabase's Privacy Policy. Processing locations depend on the service and its configuration; this policy does not promise that all information stays within a particular country.

Links to government sources and other external websites take you to services with their own privacy practices. Review their policies before submitting information there.

How long is information kept, and how is it protected?

Most calculator field state is held in the open page; the short-lived earnings handoff described above uses session storage, and later visits can restore supported values from a shared link. Printed reports and copies of links remain wherever you save them. Feedback records and abuse-prevention records are stored separately from calculator state. Closing or resolving a feedback issue does not automatically delete its record, and we do not currently publish a fixed automatic deletion period for these records.

Hosting logs, monitoring records and provider backups follow the relevant service configuration and retention arrangements. Clearing browser data does not delete a submitted feedback record. You can contact us about information you have submitted using the options below.

The application uses HTTPS, server-side submission checks and access controls for staff records. These measures reduce risk but do not guarantee that every transmission or storage system is completely secure.

Your privacy choices and requests

  • Use calculators without an account and avoid sharing links that contain private figures.
  • Clear PayNumera's site data in your browser to remove a saved theme preference and local session data.
  • Use hypothetical examples in feedback and remove identifying details from anything you choose to send.
  • Contact us to ask about access, correction or deletion of information you submitted.

Send a privacy request through the Contact page or to privacy@paynumera.com. Include the email address used for your submission and enough context to locate it, without sending an identity document. Available rights and any exceptions depend on the law applicable to your request; verification may be needed before information can be disclosed or changed.
